What is Church & Main ?
Church & Main is a new gathering of the First United Methodist Church of Williamstown. It runs from 9:30-10:30am on Sunday mornings in the First UMC Social Hall. Church & Main features worship through singing, Scripture reading and prayer. This gathering is more than just a service. Church & Main is a COMMUNITY. It’s where conversation can take place, and relationships with God and others are cultivated.

What is there for my kids?
Church & Main runs from 9:30-10:30am during which time we offer Sunday School for children in Pre-K through 12th grade. There is also a Nursery that is available for younger children. All of our staff and volunteers have gone through background checks in order to ensure the safety of the children in our care. In addition to our Sunday School teachers and Nursery Attendants, our Sunday School Superintendent also monitors our hallways and classrooms during the Sunday School hour.
Parents/guardians of children can register and check-in their kid(s) at “Room 4,” which is located on the main level of the church. As part of the check in process, each child will receive a sticker with the child’s name and a random number on it. The child will wear the sticker until they are picked up by a parent/guardian. At the time of check-in, parents will be given an identical sticker that must be given to a teacher in order to pick up the child once the service is over. Children and Youth are also welcome to remain with their parents during the Church & Main service if that is a better fit for your family.

What should I expect?
The Church & Main gathering features many of the traditional elements of a Christian worship service like worship through singing, prayer, and teaching from the Scriptures. These historic practices of the Christian faith are often shared in new ways through modern music and the use of multimedia technology.
Our goal is to not just be a gathering of people once a week but an ongoing community of encouragement, support, and mission. So we look for ways to build upon this on Sunday mornings as well as throughout the week. We seek to build one another up while also reaching out to our community in order to bless and serve those within it.
We meet in the church social hall which provides an informal environment where we can engage in worship. Even though the environment is very relaxed, our focus is still to honor Jesus Christ through our time of worship.
We recognize that everyone finds themselves in different places as it relates to their walk of faith. As a result, we seek to embrace each individual wherever they may find themselves on this journey. This means that you do not have to have it all figured out to be a part of Church & Main.
